Initial Setup

Enable Data Roaming
iOS: Menu > Settings > Cellular > Data Roaming

1. Enter the “Settings” menu;

2. Select “Mobile Phone” and activate “Data Roaming”;

3. Return to the “Settings” menu
Click “General”;

4. Enter “Background app refresh” and Untick “Active” from auto-update;

5. Return to the “Settings” menu – Scroll down the menu and open “Mail, contacts, calendars”;

6. Select “Download new data”;

7. Return to “Mobile Phone” to uncheck non instant messaging application;

8. Disable the automatic push notifications;

Set Access Point Name (APN) Manual
iOS: Menu > Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network

9. Go back to the “Settings” menu and select “Mobile Phone”. Enter “Cellular data network” to proceed with the configuration of the new APN in manual mode;

10. For GlobalChat:
Access Point Name (APN): send.ee
User: mobile number of your GlobalChat SIM (es. 372…)
Password: leave blank field

• Disable data traffic of apps other than those for instant messaging in a fast and easy way;
• Reduce total traffic exchange and hence the risk of exceeding the average daily traffic;

Enable Data Roaming
Android: Menu > Settings > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming

1. Enter the “Settings” menu;

2. Select “Other”, click “Mobile Networks”;

3. Enable Data Roaming;

4. Go back to the “Settings” menu and Click “Data Usage”, select the menu icon in the top right hand and Enable the limitation of the background refresh;

5. Go to Play Store and download “Opera Max”;

6. Enter the settings and click “Apps”; click the non-instant messaging apps to disable them;

7. Go to Play Store and open the Setting menu. Go to automatic update of apps;

8. Click on ‘do not update apps automatically’ to disable automatic updates;

Set Manual Access Point Name (APN)
Android: Menu > Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names (APN)

9. Go back to the “Settings” menu and select “Other”. Enter “Mobile Networks” and then “Access Point Names” and create a new access APN;

10. For GlobalChat:
Access Point Name (APN): send.ee
User: mobile number of your GlobalChat SIM (es. 372…)
Password: leave blank field

Enable Data Roaming
Windows Phone: Menu > Settings > Cellular > Data Roaming options > Roam

1. Enter the “Settings” menu;

2. Select “Mobile Networks” and set “On” for “Data Connection”;

3. In “Settings” go to the menu for Applications and enter “Background Traffic”;

4. Select Instant Messaging Apps and block the rest of the apps;

5. Go back to the “Settings” menu, scroll the menu and open “Access Point”;

Set Manual Access Point Name (APN)
Windows Phone: Menu > Settings > Access Point > New (+)

6. Select “+” to set up the new APN;

7. For GlobalChat:
Access Point Name (APN): send.ee
User: mobile number of your GlobalChat SIM (es. 372…)
Password: leave blank field
